Mahabir Pun's Ministry!
While our opposition wallahs are crying and throwing tantrums like four-year-olds in Bhat Bhateni, our former Education Minister, Mahabir Pun has taken back his 'sarap' for our netas, old and new, and has also thanked the Balen government for listening to his plea to have a new ministry for innovation!
The Balen government is cutting down the jumbo ministry club into a lean 18 and we no longer have to curse our old school netas and their jholeys anymore as we won't be seeing much waste of our taxpayers' money on feeding too many ministers, their personal assistants, cousins, contractors and cadres in a 'new new' Nepal!
We are fortunate that we have a RSP government in place and do not need to worry about jholeys hanging around ministries to get free grants, contracts and jobs as well. We really do need a Ministry of Research & Development. The Balen government will call it a Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation.
Well, what's in a name? asked my Professor Shakespeare once! As long as the ministry does its job to fund research and development and give space to scientists, researchers and innovators, then we can call it anything.
I really do think we have hundreds of herbs in our land that could be turned into great medicine to cure cancer, maybe if we do the research right and other terminal diseases as well. Our Yarsagumba could be turned into the next Viagra. Well, that's what the Chinese think it is for and why not go along with the hype and make a few billion dollars by banning all exports of our fungi to China and work on making it in a powder and pill form and make a hundred times more by selling it to rich Chinese in Shanghai and Beijing directly?
Our Khukuri could be more famous than the Swiss Army Knife, which is good enough to open a can of SPAM and maybe a wine bottle. We could add some pure silver and even gold and make it a luxury product for Crazy Rich Asians, because it seems that most of the luxury brands do make most of their profits from the rich ones in ASEAN and Gulf nations!
Our Seabuckthorn juice could give Red Bull a run for its money. And it's about time we decided to promote but also regulate marijuana production and sell it for medicinal purposes in America and make billions of dollars or more! Our hemp products could bring in billions of dollars to our nation if we can brand it right and even partner with other famous brands in the world.
At the end of the day, it is about the quality of the product, the branding, and how we can sell it not as cheap stuff but as an ultra-luxury for the so-called wealthy ones all over the world.
Well, everyone seems to be talking about data centers and AI but that stuff costs not a few billion dollars but hundreds of billions of dollars of investment. We don't have the money and even the skilled manpower yet for the AI stuff yet! And none of the foreign investors would want to invest in our land right now, considering all the red tape and obstacles to start something here and then once profits pour in, more difficult to take their dough back home!
Time to get our corporate taxes to 17% and tons of tax breaks and incentives not only for foreign investors but also for us here at home who are willing to sell their land to fund the next Tesla and SpaceX and even our own version of ChatJPT with the 'J'.
I think PM Balen is right when he tells me that he wants to focus on policies and regulations first instead of promising the moon to all of us. If Balen doesn't want to speak, then what is the problem? Actions speak louder than words, right? Tell that to our 'Stone Man' Harka and his gang!
Mahabir has taken back his curse. Hope our Balen government also does it right by appointing him the new minister of a new Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation as well. Harka can keep whining like a baby, throw his bag around, and try to break some chairs in the House. He is slowly losing his cool in the parliament. Good for him and all of us as well!
Let him do his crazy acts because we all know that he is doing himself and all of us a favor by showing us that he is not a man fit for any job except carrying stones, digging ditches and QR codes! Nothing wrong with hard labor, but it's time we trained 10,000 young ones to operate all the excavators and cranes so that they can do the job much faster and more efficiently than Harka's manual labor!
