Hello Ambassadors!

Our PM has finally decided to meet the Ambassadors not as a group but as individuals. And the old school media makes it sound like the PM has bowed down or has to bite his tongue and start meeting Ambassadors because we have no choice but to invite these foreign envoys for tea and beg for something!

In the past, the Ambassadors from foreign lands would not show up in Singha Durbar but in the kitchens and even bedrooms of our so-called saviors, Prachanda, Oli and Deuba. And the guff was never about how to make this country better but worse while benefiting only shady byaparis and netas and their jholeys.

Just because we happen to be between India and China doesn't mean that we have to bow down to their demands while they continue to play their own political games to make us poorer each day while they trade massively with each other for profits!

I find it funny that India doesn't want to buy our electricity just because the hydropower projects were funded by China, and they don't want us to have better air routes to our international airports funded by Chinese loans and grants. But at the same time, the Desis have a US$ 100 billion trade deficit with the Chinese! You can buy all Chinese goods from China but not from Nepal, maybe!

And when it comes to the Chinese, they don't want anything Tibetan happening in Kathmandu. Be it some conference or even a visit from the Dalai Lama. But the Chinese have no problem with the Dalai Lama living in India since the 50s! Well, the Chinese are happy selling to Indian byaparis, but they just don't want Tibetan festivals happening in Kathmandu.

PM Balen has met the Indian Ambassador today. He will meet the Chinese next, and then the American, and I guess another six months of meeting each one of the foreign envoys in our land.

As for the Indians, it's time we stopped accepting a dozen school buses and ambulances every year. In a few days, India will celebrate its Independence Day, and don't be surprised if they hand over the buses and ambulances again.

And our past governments have allowed the Indian Embassy to fund projects up to 100 crores without approval from our government. They fund some of our community schools and hospitals, but we need to know where the money is going instead of giving them free rein to just go to some districts and carry out some social projects on their own.

If we are to be better neighbors, we need to have a good, equal relationship. For example, Indian tourists can get a SIM card right at the border. We can't. Indians can use their phones to pay their bills here in Nepal. We can't. Well, I mean we can't do any of that stuff across the border.

It's time we also had a mandatory identification and PAN card system for all Indian migrant workers. India has been making it more and more difficult for Nepali migrant workers, and we do nothing about it while Indian byaparis here use others' identification to run their businesses, take loans, and disappear! And I think it's time we also sort out the problems in our treaty from the 50s.

The past governments have sold our rivers and many more to India while continuing to tell us that India doesn't want us to prosper, while they themselves made billions. This government should ask India for investments, technical knowledge, and equal trade and social benefits so that we can learn from them and finally bring all kinds of revolution in this country, be it green, white, blue or yellow.

At the end, it is all about gaas, baas and kapaas! Fork AI or all this luxury tourism natak for now. It will take decades until we have adequate infrastructure for anything technological or tourism! For now, let's work out a decade-long mission to make us self-sufficient on food first and then affordable and better education, healthcare, and housing!
