Just been thinking something lately. I know some of my friends here have posted on this topic millions of time before, but hey once more. Do we all really want democracy at the cost of our nation's natural resources? Everytime the political leaders want power, they knock on Indian doors and Indians have always benefitted from it. Analyzing history everytime our leaders went to New Delhi, something was taken from us. Koshi, Kala Pani, Tanakpur, occupying thousands of Bighas of land. This time around if Nepal returns to democracy again, wonder what we might loose, since Girija and other leaders are in India. At least the King does not trade for power. OK, you might say, hes a wicked ruler, but who is not? Bush, Blair, Man Mohan, Putin. I am myself for democracy, but not at the cost of NEPAL.

Dear Sochne Manche, I'm sorry but I need to say that you've not read real history books of Nepal. Do you think only leaders had traded? You're dead wrong my friend. When king mahendra took over, he traded our Mt. Everest to China. Before B.S. 2017, all part of Mt. Everest and even some villages beyond Mt. Everest were inside Nepal; but after his takeover, you know the situation now. In this season, all of the climbers went to Mt. Everest through Tibet side n' all these fees went to china too. We get frustrated with leaders often because we get to know about the bad deeds of leaders. Just because we don't know what kings did, doesn't really mean that they did only good. You might have heard about other fact; during so-called prajatantra from Ranas, King Tribhuvan was even ready to give Nepal to India (I read this in one of the interviews long time back in "Jan Aastha"). Finally, don't forget to read the recent thread in sajha about the hot trade from Nepal land.

The above article shows that present king is ready to go for anything to remain in power. I'd like to talk about present too. He's doing all kinds of nataks too; he got doctoral degree from university today by making huge donations to make some grand building at that university (while the kids in rural villages are studying sitting at grass); he's doing 'miteri' with lalu by allowing him to make dams in the rivers so that the region around there (inside Nepal) won't have any problem for water (I mean, it'll get flooded). That're just some of clues that we're able to know about his deeds. Most of his misdeeds, we'll never come to know. But we'll be and we're able to know about all the misdeeds of leaders. So, I still think leaders are better if i've got only 2 options to chose.

Read it gwajyo, nothing that informative. Anyway the thing about the King giving money to build a building in Russia is bogus. How can you buy such tabloid news? Laloo's case I don't know, need to further investigate. One thing, there ain't going to be 2 options to choose, should you even want to.

Dear Sochne Manchhe, I read it in news (Jana Aastha), he made donation to that university and some hall (going to be built) is being named with ROYALS; H.E. foreign minister got his education from russia and he made his arrangements during his recent visit to Russia. I know that if i give donation to make building here, they will name it after me. It's no different than Corrupt Chief Ministers in India getting doctorate during their tenure n' then after inside prison followed by court (watched in indian movie) n' later found out it's common everywhere.

P.S. the code of conducts for NGOs released in Nepal today parallels with the similar decision in Russia. Both of these were abhored by human right activitists.

Dear Gwajyo, If you start taking your daily news supplement from Jana Aastha, then I got nothing to say. That is a pro political leaders anti King tabloid. I'm sure you must have read their ridiculous news articles (what! sort of news) that pop up time and again. Regarding,code of conduct, being given to NGOs, they were the ones who had access to villages even in hard hit Maoists areas and were rallying for democracy. Oh! Human Rights, I hate it. See how Portugal said they would release Monica Bedi and her lover (the notorious underworld don) on the basis that they (Indian Government) would not hang him for his henious crimes for Bombay bomb blast that killed 250 people and other countless crimes. What Human Rights?!!

I hate talking for the sake of talking; winning for own words, n' specially with very conservative persons. If you see or read anything with your biased mind, you'll see everything as hoax.
