I was from Singapore, went to school at Tanjong Katong Secondary, ate a lot of "nasi lemak" and "rojak" plus "roti paratha" on the side, used to go to Lorong Tai Seng a lot with my parents at night for "Pasar Malam". Fond memories, you know, looking back from my window above Fifth Avenue in NYC. God!! I really missed the food, got to go and find a decent Malaysian restaurant here in the city. Later.....

opps...maaph garnuhos for making u confuse....on my current location...haha... :D neways...wow thats impressive u can come out with such list...oh the first name on your list...heard he is getting married soon....now in nepal (just to update your list)...his younger sister is the one i'm referring to...Chandarakala limbu (married, nurse, singapore)

hoina...i didn't went to Woodsville Secondary ke....actually to be honest with u, I only started to know abt Nepal & Nepalese only after my NS (2001) see how dumb a singaporean can be.....due to mero interest mah...so right now still trying to build more nepalese saathi mah..n of coz still trying to learn more lah...dun know if i can make it or not....
I know there r indeed couple of fellow nepalese here in sajha who used to stay or study in s'pore....hmm...only these days i don't happen to see them posting any...

cheers!

oooooooooooooh chandrakala limbu ha. i know her. she is one year junior than me mah. of course we used to go to same school. EPS and USSS. hey din tell her hi from me to her. send my regards to her ok.
anyway i didn't knew she was married to singaporean?
her bro and me good kawan mah.
you know din veru funny hor. every morning during school assembly we had to sing "Majulah Singapura" ----the national anthem of Singapore and also recite The Pledge.
so how can we ever forget that mah.......
also my singlish is good because ha it's like my mother tongue now.
but very sad you see. once our dad retired from SPF your government is kaYu.
they wanna see us packed too and sent us back to our homeland. but the tragic thing is that singapore is already our home. most of us grew up, educated and live in singapore for more than 15 years and when we need the most, your government turned your back against us.
so once ex. gurkha sons and daughters returned back to Nepal we have so many problems
1. we have no knowledge of our mother tongue
2. first world country to third world country >>>amazingly shocking
3. environment and food is a major adjustment

therefore as you can see many of us did not stay or returned to our homeland.
we know blood of gurkhalis are running in our body and we never run away from struggle nor hardship as we look for better future.

dear Tmobile is Tikajit Thapa and Lava Gurung a lahure in Singapore?
yes i know him.

sorie couldn't reply early...bz working on final project..work etc..etc....

hoina...she married to fellow lahure..GC member lah...abt that govt thingy..i fully understand BUT i must say this...its not the govt but its GC...seriously..its GC tat make such nonsense rules and restrictions...I'm not kidding pal. If u remember that freaking old commander (Niven) i bet its his idea to have such rules enforce to all GC members. Because, I've seen and spoken to quite a number of nepalese students, workers that r here either with students pass or working pass. They don't seem to have problems getting visa, not at all. The only different between them is that they comes straight from Nepal, unlike u or other fellow GC chora chori.

I heard from my GC frends that some of the retirees are seeking help back in Nepal from the Ex-Gurkha committee or something like that to get GC change their long standing rule....hopefully with the new commander...something could be change but i doubt...so long as the commander is a dumbass British, there's little hope...sigh...its kinda sad n upsets to see such things happened here...U shld keep trying

cheers!

Have a great Chritmas.
Carpe diem
