Nirmala Subedi, one of the victims of Alabama Car Accident, is recovering day by day. She has still problem with speech & left hand. Her brother Dhruba Raj Subedi is also with her in Alabama. After a long treatment in Hospital & Rehab Center, she couldn't gain proper fitness. Her left part is not working properly. One of the Nepalese Student Associations (NSA) at Troy University had been active in raising funds for her help and support. It was a good initiation though! Unfortunately I got to know from her brother that she hasn't received a penny from that fund. NSA Troy claims that the fund collected for her help has been kept under the medical fund of the University. She wont get anything from that personally.
Is this fair? We have donated for her, not for Medical fund of the University. We would appreciate if she could get something from that fund for her temporary stay in Alabama till last appointment in hospital.
We pray for her quick recovery and wish her Get Well Soon!

This is really a sad news! Money collected by well wishers being deposited into School's fund. Collected pennies from students for a person involved in an accident going to the school's account is NOT FAIR. People lets send email to the Troy University and tell them that we donated money to Nirmala not to the School. Public pressure works ( see the case of paris hilton).

Few friends including me are working on conducting a fund raising campaign for Nirmala which will help them have food and at least pay their rent. We are planning to do it using paypal which will directly deposit the money into Nirmala's Bank account instead of going to any third party.
So, any body knows how you set up a donation account in Paypal???

As far as setting up the Pay Pal account is concerned, its better if we ask Nepalisite.com, himtel.com or other Nepali sites to help us. If we set up a paypal account ourself, then there will be a cap on the amount of money we raise. does anyone know himtel guys? if we use their existing paypal account, we will pay them the paypal charge and we dont have to go through the trouble of setting it up and other legal stuff.

Chicago Bull..i dont agree with what you have said that they haven't received any fund from that collected money. Troy was generous enough to help those students in time of need. All the collected fund is being distributed in biweekly basis and as per need. I was in touch with people at Troy and the help that they have got from college was more than anybody could anticipate considering the condition of accident. All these are being done just on humanity basis. His brother made that statement to you and it is absolutely false, I dont know what his intentions are but there were other students too who were involved in that accident. All those funds were collected for everybody involved in that accident but just not Nirmala.

We are trying to get a procedure done for her and it would require extra money we can surely start another donation collection just for her and I guarantee that it will be made to her in person but the initial fund collection was done for everybody so the distribution is done per individual. If more people like to help just to Nirmala please let me know and I can start the donation link again for Nirmala fund as her procedure expenses will be around $10000. Please let me know. Thank you very much for the information u provided. I was trying to talk to Dhruba ji and Sabina to verify the information. if thats the case and if the university is giving them the money, we should focus on the donation drive.
This time, lets set up a system so we can donate directly to Nirmala'a account so that the money will be there at her disposal when she is in need. I still dont understand why the university sends the money in installments when Nirmala has hard time paying the cab fares to and fro hospital.

Lets set up an account in such a way that the money will go to her personal account and she can spend that amount personally to pay rent, or to buy bread, or to buy milk, buy cloth, buy medicine, or to pay taxi fare to go to hospital or even save for her school etc etc............
.....................and not in a way that somebody else will have control on that amount and release it in installment or biweekly or monthly or don't release it if they chose not to!................

I just have a long talk with Dhruba (Nirmala's brother) and come up to the point that Sagarnep (aagolagyo) is totally WRONG. Donno why he wrote such comment. I doubt!!!
Nirmala HAS NOT RECEIVED any money from NSA Troy fund (which was creatd for alabama accident-mentioned with "Help Nirmala") as biweekly installment like how this guy (sagarnep) described. NSA Troy has not revealed about the collected fund till now. Dhruba and Nirmala are not aware of that money!!

One more surprising fact: Nirmala had paid her semester fees ($1350) before her accident. Troy gave a pay check of $672 (not whole amount of her paid tuition) as a refund (coz she withdrew the semester due to her accident). They took Nirmala (in such a poor condition!!) in a cab (she even vomited while going) along with her brother to Troy bank to receive that money. Dhruba has stayed in International center for 4 days. Troy also took money from him, $100. Listen the story!! They are using Nirmala's own money and even they have not released her total amount. What the hell NSA Troy and Sabita are doing there?? Troy management and sabita are forcing them to go back to Nepal (WHY they are doing like this????). Troy says that it cant afford her treatment anymore.

I just verified with Sudhir Raman (another victim of alabama accident after first one). He is extremely surprised to hear that they were getting money biweekly from TROY. It is totally wrong comment!!

Now a Request for NSA TROY:: Make publicise about the fund collected in the name of Nirmala and other victims. What is the reason behind askig Dhruba & Nirmala to go back to Nepal? Why "aagolagyo" made suspicious comment? Who is he? What is the basis of saying "All the collected fund is being distributed in biweekly basis and as per need"?? Is Troy really generous (Which even took $100 from Dhruba for staying with them)??

Personally I dont know much about NSA Troy and Sabita and Sagarnep. I am only concerned with the extremely difficult condtion of Nirmala & Dhruba and Nirmala's situation. Just for humanity. I really dont like to make it more mess! WE SHOULD HELP THEM IN SUCH A CRITICAL CONDITION!! Thats it!

I am webmaster for staticnepal.com. I dont know what is truth and what is not. I just initiated that fund collection to help those victims. I dont know what Dhruba is talkng about. He was not there to support his sister when needed now he is comming forward with all these comments through you which is suspicious on itself. Totally agree with Chicago_bull's idea of opening new account through any other organization/trust etc..............is there anybody who knows or can help on this procedure, please come forward.

Also, talking with Dhruba, i also heard that he had to pay the Troy university $100 for his 4 nights stay in their dorm at the rate of $25.00 per day and nowadays he is staying helpless in an apartment paying monthly rent.

As Troy university has already pressurized Nirmala and Dhruba to go back to Nepal (although Nirmala still has a doctor's appointment this month and coming month) Troy university management's message to Nirmala is clear that- "whatever we have done for you is more than enough and now we cannot do for you anymore."

Now at this situation, we other well wishers should come forward and help this "young Nepali lady" survive here until she gets more treatment for the appointments doctor has already given for her hand and shoulder. Just want to remind here that she was in coma for about 20 days, and now she can walk and talk. She needs physical therapy and treatment with her one hand and shoulder and obviously some nutrious foods and medicine to be able to go back to school.

Anybody with any idea, suggestions and help to set up donation drive are urged to come forward!!!!!!

I would say that's a pretty sticky situation. Aagolagyo seems to be the person involved in raising the money and he said he's been giving out money in bi-weekly basis. But Nirmala and her brother are saying they haven't received any money.
