काठमाडौं उपत्यकालाई २, ४ सय ज्यापुहरु मिलेर नेवा राज्य घोषणा गरेछन अघिल्लो दिन। त्यस्को ३ दिन जती पछी मलाई एउटा नेवार साथीले परिवार शाहीत खान बोलएको थियो,,,, गएको थिए १ बोटल ब्ल्याक लेबल बोकेर। उस्को त्यो दिन छुट्टी रहेछ ५ महिन पछी त्यही १ दिन। अनी हामी केटा केटा चै रक्सी र भुटेको पाङ्रा खाँदै थियौ। उस्को फोन आयो खै कता बाट, अनी उस्ले थाहा पायो त्यो नेवा राज्य घोषणाको समाचार।

साथी त फोनमा समाचार सुन्ने बित्तिकै फोन फ्यात्तै भुइमा छोडेर बुरुक्क बुरुक्क उफ्रियो के रे। के भो ए भनेर सोधेको त "हाम्रो डेश भयो नि ट्यो काठमाडौं आ" पो भन्छ यार। म त अक्क न बक्क परे यार। उस्कैमा खान बोलाएको छ फेरी उस्लाई नै लात हान्न पनि नमिल्ने। कन्सेरी तातेर आयो।
अनी त्यही पनि ल बधाई छ है भने, "ठान्कु ठान्कु" भन्यो। अब नेपाल जाने होला नि त, कती यो रात दिन ग्यास स्टेसन धाउछौ भनी सोधेको त के भन्छ भने "का अजै १ बर्ष जती लाग्छ हरियो पत्ता आउन", पो भन्छ यार।  शरनार्थी भएर भरेको। फेरी सोधे, अब त तिम्रो देश भयो नि हाउ काठमाडौं जानु पर्‍यो नि, भनेको त , को जान्छ हो त्यो "मुडी" काठमाडौं न काम छ न काज, पो भन्छ यार।
लास्टमा यस्तो रिस उथ्यो कि मेरो पालो जुरुक्क उठेर "के गुलो गर्न खुशी भएर उफ्रेको त अगी" भन्दिए।

सम्झी सम्झी एक्लै हाँस्दा हाँस्दा अब चै भएन अरुलाई पनि भन्नु पर्‍यो भन्ने लागेर यहाँ लेख्दिएको है ।

मैले कुनै नेवारहरुको चरित्र हत्या गर्न खोज्या हैन नि फेरी,,,बडी जान्ने बाठाहरु साबधान।

 

 

Newlynew-I would definitely apologies if there was anything said on the cast itself. I was writing in a same way that I spoke to my newar friend that evening. again...I am against newa state and those who are fighting for it.

Radiohead: I am sure that you did not mean any offence but referring to the whole Newars as Jyapus can be offensive as Jyapu literally means farmers and we all know that Newars are not all Jyapus. Another issue is the way you have derogatively brought up Newar pronunciation of certain letters. This is the reason that I thought you owe an apology.

Other than that, I fully appreciate anyone including yourself trying to encourage nationalism and not caste based systems.

Radiohead: Regarding the accent, it really depends on the context. If you are doing it in derogative manner, it would be offensive no matter who does it and be it Newar or Madhise accent. So your best bet is to avoid doing that if you are not a Newar or Madhise yourself for the respective accents. Eg., An African American person most likely will not be offended by a person of the same race referring to him/her as a Ni**er but he is more than likely to get mad if done the same by a person of different race. I guess you see my point.
