Indian border force SSB drives 1800 Nepalis in Nepal:- -kantipur news online DANG, June 1 - Hundreds of people have been displaced as border security force of India, Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB), reportedly drove them out form various bordering villages of Dang district along Nepal-India border. More than 1,800 people are now taking shelter in a community forest of Satbariya-2 in Deukhuri area in the district. The victims said the SSB personnel encroached the Nepali territory and torched their settlements. "We were compelled to leave our homes to protect our lives," said Purna Kumari Bista, 70, of Rajpur VDC-7. She said the Indian side also shifted border pillars some 35 metres inside Nepali land. The villagers of various 22 bordering villages of Rajpur, Bela and Koilabas VDCs in the district were displaced by the SSB. The displaced have also accused the SSB personnel of raping their women and pillaging their villages every now and then. The enraged victims blamed the government for not providing security despite the repeated excesses from the Indian side. " Nepalese people must do something about it while political parties are too corrupt.."

I am not saying we submit to India. I am only saying that NA is worthless. It has no concern for Nepal or Nepali as most of us would like to think. Nepali people are concerned just like you and I are concerned but there is very little we can do when we have both politicians and Nepali Army that are against Nepali people. Read it on the news today, some NA officer was complaining about not being able to punish Kulbahudur or something but NA has not said a word about boarder encroachment yet. Sid

sajhabahadur " War is not solution, but negotiation may taken into consideration for a while." you are absolutely correct, negotiation first, be it bi-partisan, tri-partisan or multi-partisan. But if this fails, then i'm assure you that we have to fight all out. I'm sure Indian government won't listen to our demands. They won't respect our sovereignty. It has been going on and off for many times already mind you. These Indian are just testing Nepalese patience. Well the clock is ticking away and the demands from the Nepali people have never become more stronger than ever even if our indian-lackey government fails to do so. I'm sure another chapter of Mahabharata is under going very soon. So just folks, sit tight, relax, and enjoy the show because to those who never speaks out are either traitors or bunch of cowards.

Delegations say India encroached Nepal's land The separate delegations of the Constituent Assembly and legislature parliament have concluded that Nepali has been encroached by India in Dang district. The CA team was lead by Amik Sherchan, chairman of the Committee for Protection of National Interest while the parliamentary delegation was headed by Padma Lal Biswakarma, chairman of the International Relations and Human Rights Committee. Organising a press conference in Dang Saturday, the all-party CA inspection team urged the government to start rehabilitation of those displaced due to unruly acts of the Indian border security officials, provide them relief support and seek lasting solution to the recurrent border disputes. The team told local journalists that Indian SSB personnel threatened, harassed and barred Nepalis from purchasing daily consumer goods from the bordering market. Indian government and some Nepali officials including Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala had denied any border encroachment. nepalnews.com ia June 13 09

Thousands displaced as Indian forces drive Nepali families out of their villages:- The Indian border security force, Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB), has driven out hundreds of Nepali families living along Nepal-India border in west Nepal. More than 6,000 have been displaced as SSB personnel drove Nepali families out from various bordering villages of Dang district along Nepal-India border. Of them, 1,800 have taken refuge at the Satbariya community forest of Deukhuri, Dang after SSB encroached Nepali land and torched their homes, Kantipur daily reported. "They torched our houses saying you can’t live here," Purna Kumari Bista, 70, of Rajpur, Dang told the daily. "We had to leave with the family to protect our lives." She also claimed the SSB shifted border pillars some 35 metres inside Nepali land. Villagers from some 22 entry points bordering Dang district on the Nepali side and Balarampur, Shravasti and Gonda districts on the Indian side have fled their homes. The displaced said the SSB assaulted and raped women. "We are forced to become mute spectators when they rape our ladies," said Begaram Pun of Siriya. "More than 15 girls have already gone missing." Even though the villagers had been facing atrocities since years, they were forced to flee when the atrocities became intolerable, the report says. They were forced to flee after the SSB did not allow them to buy essentials in the Indian market and took away theirs, according to Cham Kumari Gharti of Khangra. "They (used to) come to our houses brandishing guns and take away our ration and live stocks," said Gharti. "They beat us up if we tried to oppose. Probably there is nobody that has not been beaten up at least once." The displaced have been living in make-shift tents at Karri community forest in Satbariaya. Chief District Officer of Dang Rishi Ram Dhakal said an all-party meeting would be called soon to resolve the issue. nepalnews.com Jun 02 09

I dont know what we can do...but this is what i have done...i have emailed my Friend Gagan Thapa to let him know how shitty congress party is on not recognizing border dispute.. I have called/emailed few of my UML friends who are student activists and whose fathers are in Central level of UML and let them know how pathethetic UML party is for putting Posts before the Country. I do not know anyone in Mao party otherwise i would have tell them to go guard the border instead of harrasing ordinary citizens. If i knew anyone in Nepal Lazyass Army i would let them know how shameless they are to not make one comment about border encrochment. Dont be a pussy and criticise the party you are associated with. Regardless of all the idealogical differences all Nepal loving people should have one agreement on Nepal's Sovergnity. India is taking a big advantage of this shitty government that it has put together. The government is so weak that it cant even say shit about the encrochment from one side and from the other side it wants Indian Sympathazing parties like MJF to hold the home ministry including the deputy priminister postion. India wipes out anyone who stand against its " Manpari" in Nepal at any cost. Looks at King Birendra's fate and Prachende's fate. But i would take King Birendra's dictatorship or Prachande's Maoism over Indian Imperialism anytime. And shame on all of you who cheered for the New Government sponsored by India at this cost to Nepal. Sid

The fact is that the world world hates India. Here's a short summary: Anonymous said... I personally hate Indians for the following reasons. See below: 1. The are usually very dirty 2. They have smelly food 3. they have no concept of YES NO, they simply tilt the head and go on doing something wrong 4. they can not be trusted, as soon as you turn your back, they try to abuse you 5. they are TOO MANY. What about other communities? 6. The worst of the wrost in my opinion are Malbaries. They are unbelievable. I live in Dubai and I don't know ONE person that like Indians link: "We Hate India"http://spmallick.blogspot.com/2006/10/we-hate-india.htmlso my fellow Nepalis, don't worry. It not just us. When the majority of the world agrees that they hate Indians, surely something must be wrong with Indian people??? And when the world knows about this heinous crime committed by Indians on Nepali, where Lord Buddha was born, where the Gurkhas fought bravely in the WW1 and WW2 for the freedom of the World and the humanity, the world will spit at Indians. Long Live My Motherland, My Bumi, My Birthplace, My Ancestral Home, My Sanskriti, My Parampara. Jai Mahadev, Jai Nepal.

Sidster - good to see that your venom against Nepal Army is continues unabated. Surely, this demands precisely the type of unity that we should all strive for forgetting petty and partisan positions. It's about Nepal's interest not about any party or any organ of the state. This is about total committment to overcome these Indian machinations and involves using brains first. I appreciate what you are doing already. We all need to do much more and we can start by mobilising the NRN Army, writing to our Congressmen, internationalising this issue as Nepalis, not as sympthisers or Maoist lackeys, bile-spillers against the Army or supporters of the UML, Congress or the King. This is about Nepal and this is a fight that we all know is worth taking on, using whatever means at our disposal.

I agree with Peter. Its time for each an every Nepali to put aside our differences within and unite for one common cause. We need to say NO to the Indian aggression with one voice then we can start disagreeing with each other in our own spare time. We need to start writing to the local politicians world wide. Lots of people visit this forum and we have friends all over the world. Lets spread the news, Lets write to our local local representatives and make this issue as visible as we can. There are few more things we can do along with just coming to Sajha and bitching. Also, if you know anyone influencial or non influencial back home...write/call them and let them know they are bastards. Anyone who is keeping thier mouth shut in this issue is in India's payroll and its our duty to let these people know that we know. One things Indians are going to listen to are the Goras. Indians are yet to overcome the orders of their Gora masters. Sid

teamlogo thanks for the wonderful news and information. now lets see what is the reaction of Indian government? shall the India still lay their dirty hands on sacred Nepal is the question? Indians are cowards folks. When they can't even finished off Pakis, sending Gorkhas, our own Nepali brothers to their hot spot regions. I was also wondering if we could somehow let Gorkha troops in India know about this matter, let them be agitated, then see what would be the result? finally all the Nepalese must Unite to fight Indian aggressors. Can ANA organized something to protest about this issue? ANA can organize a protest in front of UN. I am willing to support this cause even if it meant not going to work. I live in NY and so i am more than willing to come to UN office anytime. Other Nepalis from other states will come. I am sure about this. thanks, jpeg

Yes ANA and other organizations should contact politicians in their countries too. If any of you are members of any of such organization, lets push those organizations to write senators and congressmen to make this issue visible. If any of you are associated with International Human Rights organizations get them to voice it too. We need to be publishing this issue as much as we can.

JPEG and Sidster, I applaud your initiative. No one else is going to stand up for us and forget about our “netajis”. And before we are labelled reactionaries, janajatis, separatists, castists, bahunists, Maoists, Congress, Royalists, Communist, or whatever “ists”, let’s not be afraid to tell the world the simple truth: we are all of the above, we are Nepalis. We salute those brave people in Vancouver, let there be many more such rallies, in Sydney, Brussels, London, Washington and wherever there are Nepalis who want to stand up for Nepal, our people and our way of life. This is not about being anti-India. It’s about being pro-Nepal. Stand up and be counted as Nepalis, all of us together, wherever were are. Peter Bagdas

As much frustrating as it is, the Indian encroachment is at its peak now. Do not expect anything from any party but unfortunately we are at their mercy!! There was a report on IndiaTV a few days ago and it said that the process of consuming Terai is at its final stages and Terai will be inside Indian territory within four months.

India encroaches Nepali territory in Bardiya also
KAMAL PANTHI BARDIYA, June 14 - Nearly four hectares of land owned by the villagers of Surajpur area of Bardiya district has been taken over by the Indian side for as long as five years. The land located in the middle of Nepal-India border pillar no. 62/63 was reportedly encroached by Indian Forest Department and Indian Survey Department of bordering Nanapara, prohibiting the owners from earning their own land. The encroached land is owned by 86 people of Surajpur. The landowners have said that the Indian authority have set up a camp for its border security force Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB) close to the encroached land. "SSB men have threatened to gun us down if we try to till our own land," said Krishna Gopal Gupta, one of the victims. "The Indian side claims that the land belongs to them." The victims say that the encroachment of Nepali soil by the Indain began in 2001. As the most part of the border area is covered with forest, the encroachment of land from the Indian side has gone unnoticed so far. Sahadad Ali Dhobi, local of Gulariya Municipality-9, claims that more than 1.3 hectares of his land at Surajpur is under the Indian occupation since past five years. "I reached out to the District Administration Office and local political parties asking them to free my land but they did not hear my plight." Other claimants also say that the local administration did not take any initiative to free the encroached land. Current Chief District Officer (CDO) of Bardiya Bed Bahadur Karki said that he had no idea about the encroachment issue. "The complaints must have been made to the previous officer. As far as I am concerned I have not received such reports whatsoever." Former CDO Keshav Sharma had told the victims that talks are underway with the Indian side on the matter but no step has been taken as of now to free the encroached land. Two years ago, a joint survey team from Nepal and India had inspected the area along border pillar no. 62/63 and concluded that the area was disputed but no action was initiated to sort out the issue. The district-based political parties have appealed the government to look into the matter immediately and find out a solution. http://kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=199182
