In my opinion, when one takes away what has been provided by different institutions as an indentity then just the person remains and then the journey of finding oneself like Gautum Buddha did, starts. Everyone of us here in this world are here for a purpose. What is my purpose? What is your purpose? I wish, I knew.

i ask myself what i want, and i hear materialistic, superficial things....but how deep does life go beyond such materialism??

well, you gotta figure out what is materialistic and what is truly you!
takes time and frustration, but you will get there! ask more people, you will get frustrated even more because you expect an answer!

I don't really think that anyone has a purpose for being here. It's just a circular cyles, like every living thing/being is going thru. Having a ability to think and choose what you do and grow a conscience will just make the journey thru life a more entertaining in a way even if you had to do it all over again knowing what u did before. but then no one said that you are not living a life the same way that you have done it before.... and the the deja vu u get...are some things u happen to remember from that cycle:-)
