in this year ANA 2006 was suck. Not good...... ANA did only hulligan party, drink alcohol and smoke everywhere.... There was not konwledgeable, creative and informative activities in ANA. ANA organizers only looking to sell something and earn money by activities. Where they putting Revenue. IRS will arrest them when they fail to show earning and revenue from ANA convention of each years. ANA was only fun and good to drunkers and smokers and hooligans

Well...i agree with you guys..But not entirely.. there were good events too.like forums were good, did u go .no!!cause you were drinking with them. the movie festiival was good... did u go..i guess not..who were u flirting with in the bar??:) Even though it was in the most scariest place in US newark. It was ok!!can't say not too much bad except some stuff were overrated.. Drinking ,drinking , drinking is what most people go to ANA for ..funny..anyways its good to drink with friends whom you meet after years. We must thanks ANA volunteers for their hardwork. They don't put the money in their pocket. They deserve a thanks.Thank you!

HOW ABOUT ORGANIZING A PROPER CONVENTION CONFERENCE DINNER WHERE AWARDS ARE DISTRIBUTED FOR APPROPRIATE ACHIEVEMENT BY NEPALESE HERE AND BACK HOME. THESE STUPID CURRENT ORGANIZERS SHOULD JUST BE FIRED. AND HEY SAN START POSTING PHOTOS OF SPORTING ACTIVITIES ETC RATHER THEN THESE HALF NAKED CRAZY TRYING TO PROVE THEY ARE VERY AMERCIANIZED. I attended the ANA and I enjoyed it a lot as I met a lots of my old pals. Kiwigal, it is quite stupid to blame organizers for everything. Well, I believe the majority of the attending mass enjoyed the dance sessions. If we are organising sober seminars in ANA conventions, I wonder how many successful Nepalese business people, enterpreneurs and professionals will come forward to volunteer for such an event and how many people will fly to an award ceremony dinner only? Its not that there weren't any sober seminars. I also ask San to post some pics (if he has some) of the poem contest, seminar and sports rather than only the pics of Nepalese gals gone wild. Again, thanks for all the volunteers and organizers and all the best to LA organizers for the coming year's ANA convention.

Problem with these losers who posted only to criticize the event, prolly is coz they didn't get laid there. I mean c'mon. I was there, it wasn't a heaven, but it wasn't a hell either. Those who say there should be intelligent meetings, prolly were getting wasted when they were running various forums (Biomedical, youth etc etc). They even had pravachan and yoga in the beginning. As for the alcohols, they say all the money made goes to the hotel (atleast in dallas), and hotel won't give u a discount rate if they can't sell alochol. Do some research before u criticize. But yeah, I hope LA will be even better.

Sanjays is right. Yes one at D.C. in 2002 was probably the best organized ANA convention that I have witnessed so far. Revival

First and foremost: ANA has the highest budget amongst all nepalese organisations in the US. They charge the most for thier programs and they have the most turnouts. Still, their organising was mediocre. With all that money and all that participation, they should've at least got a better place. First day of the sports event, cops busted a drug dealer right outside the basketball court, and that was a common sight around that area. Two blocks from the basketbal -volleyball courts, was a ghetto. There was no adequete transportation from the hotel to the basketball courts. I had a great time at the convention, because I met a lot of friends and went to the concert. But I spent more than $300 just on lunch and transportation to-and from the sports centers...not including drinks. The hotel was in a very awkward place...with no good transportation .... with nowhere to eat except the hotel restaurant, which was super-duper overcharged. The only thing the organisers were super careful about was....on collecting money...made sure everysingle one paid. Other than that....the organisers Sucked BIG TIME!!! BIGG BOOO for the organising committee!!!

I hate people when they tell that ANA is a gathering organized just to have fun, dance , party, drink, smoke (and probably sleep around). Damnn...if people were not to have fun, dance, party, drink and smoke around at ANA convention why the hell people should people even bother to come to ANA ? Having fun, partying and getting drunk is the fundamental aspect of ANA and it is the way it should be. Or else what is the value of taking your time out from your busy life and a whole lots of other more important issues in your life.

Dear all! First of all I think we should appreciate to those people who had created ANA in 1983 they are Dr. hari Sharma and his family and Dr. Kamal Pathak, and family, Dr. Pabitra Tuladhar and Mrs. Amrit Tuladar, Dr. Amar Giri, and Mina Giri, Mr. Krishna Niroula, Dr. Kunjar Sharma Dr. Kumud Sharma, Late Mr. N. Thakur and his family, Dr. Mohan and Mrs. Vijaya Shrestha they are the one who had vision and establish ANA for the good cause to Nepalese Living in the Americas, some time you may find good place some time you may not find good place, it is very lots of work being an organizer of ANA convention, we never learned that saying if one collect drop of water it will dry out if all of us collect a drop of water we can pour into big vas. If you had spend 150/00 dollar for buzz that was wasted of your money that same money you had donate to ANA's project that would be ever lasting shrine, we never learn to appreciate, we just learned how to criticizes other people who have spend their valuable time and energy. Good to you all.Next year's ANA's convention should be under the supervision of Mr. Beda Bhakta Joshi Who has spent quite amount of his time to the Nepalese Communities

I agree with Birkhe03 , spending money drinking black label in hotel's bar is your choice!!! We must learn to give credit to people who deserve it. At the same time ..I would like to see improvements (venue) and cost reduction as much as possible(for people there are mostly students) via advertisements etc.Improvements and healthy criticism should always be welcomed.

I also feel these ANA photos are also promoting vulgarity. This pervert who takes womens and ladies photos usually aims at unusual places and likes to capture vulgur photos. I think these activites are usually carried out by a pervert.

I was wondering how long it took before someone posted a thread saying the convention sucked..thankfully it did not take that long. As always, the person who starts this kinda thread is a charikote (check his english, it is mediocre), who probably lives in Jorpati and surfs the web all day, finding places to whine and complain. And then we get sucked in ( me included) who have to put in our 2 cents. As I said last yr too, if you dont like the convention, dont go. I always have fun, and I appreciate the hard work put in by organizers, because they are like you and me, normal regular people who have a life besides organizing events such as these. I spent a ridiculous sum of money, partied like a mofo, and came down with a bug as soon as the convention was over. BUT MAN WAS IT FUN!

I had good times at ANA, but I strongly believe it could have been better. You cannot give credit to anyone just because they organized the event. Its not a rocket science event to organize. Definitely with the kind of budget and resources, things could have been way better. I like the idea of dancing and partying as nobody would fly from California or Texas just to watch an award ceremony, but certainly one or two events on recognizing some of the Nepalese citizen's hard work in United States would have been appreciated. To all the ardent supporter of ANA Newark, guys learn to take constructive criticisms. There were hundreds of Nepalese people, just because you guys found something to engage you and enjoy doesn't mean everybody enjoyed and people can give contructive criticisms to improve it. PS: I don't drink alcohol.
