Hi everybody,

I had applied for STEM OPT extension and I received a request for evidence. I thought that employer identification number was the e-verify number but later came to find out (after I received the request, that the company id number is the e-verify number). Anyway, I sent the evidence but the status for my application has not changed from "request for additional evidence sent". Is it supposed to change to something like "evidence received" or does it directly change to "approved" or "denied"? (I checked the USPS website and it said that the package had been picked up for INS by so and so...). Also, another thing is that, I got 6 months automatic extension after applying but its getting near to the end of that 6 months. I think it will be 6 months on December 23 or something like that. What will happen if I don't get any decision by then? What do you suggest I should do if I don't get any decision by then? Any helpful suggestions are greatly appriciated.

the best thing you could do at this moment is go talk to your International student advisor.

could you tell me how long did it take you to receive 6 month authorization after you applied for opt extension.
and how did you get that  month authorization at first? I am going to extend my opt, so i need information from you plz.

it is automatic extension. It will come into effect as soon as you apply. Your international advisor should tell you this.
