why not CPT instead of OPT....if u take CPT then it is just the matter of a day that adviser takes to issue a new i-20. plus, u don't loose OPT time...

thanks for suggestions tara aafule kaam nai paako chaina ahile samma...so Pre OPT nikalyera kaam saam garum bhanne sochai ho...tesaile i need that urgently...any other suggestions...

My friends who applied for their OPTs received theirs from anywhere between 25 - 60 days. Good luck.

I strongly suggest you not to go for Pre OPT. Find a job in a related field then use your CPT.

i thought about that...but...k garne,,kaam nai napayeko dherai bhayo...aba jhan winter break cha ahile..ani spring session starts in a month...so class registration ko laagi..kaam garera paisa save garnu cha...so yo baaheko maile bikalpa nai dekhdina.. :( ..

how about economic hardship?

to be frank with you, i would not suggest to get pre-OPT. i don't know how many semester are left for you to graduate, but since u r thinking for pre OPT, i am guessing that there is not much left for you to graduate. Ask money from nepal, I am sure ur family can understand and help you or if that is not possible get credit cards and use it. I know couple of my friends were able to get insecured student loan from wells fargo without collateral signature. May be ask money from your friends and pay for school. after u graduate, then apply for opt. u can look for internships, and use ur CPT. I know its hard but possible.

i have just completed my 4 semesters...and my major is computer science..ani i heard that the OPT can be extended for this major...so that why i am thinking to apply for 3 months now...so lida thikkai nai huncha hola ni haina ra??

i don't know if you can take pre-OPT in parts, like 3 months or 6 months. r u planning to do non-major related stuffs with opt....i would think twice if you are thinking about it....economic hardship sounds lot better than taking pre-OPT...double check with your adviser....yes you can extend your OPT later but only if you are employed with a company.. not if you r unemployed..

saathi haru.....yesma malai feri ekchoti information chahiyo.....I heard that we can only 20 hours per weeks when school is in session even if we get PRE-OPT...ani aba 20 hrs bhanda dherai gare...or bhanum full time( 40 Hours) kaam garyo bhane....yesh baata aafulai huna sakne affects ra immigration le garna sakne kaarbaahi haru ekchoti feri bhandinu na...yo abood baalak lai.,,,dhanyabaad..
