I am not sure if it is the least expensive card to call Nepal or not but every time I called their customer service in the past, the rep was very patient and professional. These days I buy cards directly from their no-frills and user-friendly site http://www.himtel.com/.

हैन एक दिनमा कती मिनेट कुरा गरिन्छ नेपाल ?
गाइने र दिपउलाटाको कुरो किन नमिलेको ?

Some one posted " Instead of crying (checking for low price calling cards ) for calling cards , ask your family and friends to call you". It may sound crazy to you ( it may be against the status , staying in America and getting call from Nepal what a cheap person? does it make sense to you????? you do not want to be cheap, then pay a good price be happy)  but it makes some sense.

The himtel calling cards are the worst. The costumer service is irresponsible. Try it if you have at least 3 hours of free time. Because I have that kind of experience. I sat to call Nepal taking a himtel card at 8 A.M. and got connected around 11 A.M, but for short time. It deducts your money even if you are not connected. Sometimes, I lost whole money without saying a single word"Hello". If you keep on dialing the number because of problem in connection, your money is being deducted. Now, I left to use this card any more. One of  my friends has also same kind of experience. When he complained this kind of problem to the costumer service he got very irresponsible and stupid answer. He says, " They told him not to buy their cards". What kind of business policy is this? They should give the priority to the satisfaction of the costumers. They should have patience to listen the comments from the costumers and try to convince them improving the quality. If somebody from Himtel group reads this comment, please think with cool mind and positively for the sake of good health of your business.

Himtel needs to hire smarter people than himtelcustomercare, whose name says it all but he comes back saying "i am also a student like you people.i just used the card and it worked very well"

Funniest thing I've seen in days.

.
unfortunately the best ones are not owned by Nepalese for some reason and are therefore not advertised in the Sajha. I used to use the International calling service from the company named IDOCALL for some long time but slowly and eventually their `call quality and customer service degraded and I was forced to cancel their service. Sadly but true.

I never thought that I would be using a calling service from an Indian owned company. While I was searching for best calling cards out there for calling to Nepal I came across this Indian company which provides quality calling service. now I've been using their service for the past two weeks, I have no problem at all even thought the rate is like 11 cents/ minute + tax, with no additional cost what so ever.
now this is not an advertisement, and that's why I'm not mentioning the name of the company here.
I kinda feel like the Nepali owned International Calling service provider tend to promote their service pretty well initially but they eventually take the short cut and hence compromise with the quality of their service.

The sole purpose of my writing is to request the Nepali owned calling card provider to step up and not compromise with the trust of the Nepalese in here. Now I have been dispaired before, and I'm kinda reluctant to buy another calling card from a Nepali owned company just because of my past experience.

anyways, I hope to see the quality of the service of the Nepali calling cards rise and exceed beyond the general expectations here, and eventually we all Nepalese use only Nepali owned calling cards.

peace

dipulata,

you can make outgoing calls but if it's outside USA and Canada ( as your subscription is 2.95 per  month it only includes USA and Canada) you will be charged as per the skype rate. For Nepal its more than 20 cents per minute which is quite expensive than calling cards.

after reading this thread, i went ahead and bought this "himtel premium" card and used it to call back home forthe past 2 days. I have to say that it wasn't too bad. One day, it took me a few tries to get connected but didn't deduct any mins (surprisingly!)...I have been using Raza calling card (used to be good but expensive), but they've started deducting money even if the call doesn't go through and they never put it back.. I took a risk with $5 on this one and so far, I'm happy with it...

-peace

Himtel cards are expensive now a days. Their customer services might be good but if you talk about the price it is on of the expensive card. If you want to use cards there are other good cards where you get 50 minutes of $2.25 (land line kathmandu). Now a days I recieve call from Nepal but if I have to call I use pinless.
